Oh...dear Su Chuen...sat in front of me in Arif class...she's such a dearie..alwiz handling everything especially in Bio Lab..because Jess & Pei would be so blur..haha...

Hey..i wasn't blur..I alwiz help her out..Me and SuChu I remember, alwiz ending up doing all the washing in Chem Lab..We worked together for the graphics in Editorial Board...it was fun..

Out of school, Hang outs were so much more fun with her around! And I will alwiz remember her "Air Mani....ssss".....

Penang Hokkien!! Be proud of our mother tongue..

The Hokkien Chinese dialect as it is spoken on Penang Island is an "oral" language. Chinese language newspapers there are written in Mandarin. There are few English-Hokkien references available which would facilitate the understanding or learning of the Hokkien Dialect. The only and most authoritative account available is a two volume Spoken Amoy Hokkien (Bodman, 1955, 1958) which appears to be intended for use by British military officers.
The Hokkien Chinese dialect as it is spoken in Penang and upon the Jetty is differs from the Hokkien dialects found in Singapore, Taiwan and the province of China in which Amoy is situated. It is expected that there are a number of loan words, loss of formal spoken styles, refined vocabulary, idioms and colloquialisms of the parent language and the presence of neologisms that are not borrowings from Malay or English. This dialectal variation is significant in understanding the restructuring that a local language goes through, and significant dialectal differences in the replacement of basic terms, form of grammatical construction and sound shifts can be demonstrated even between sister communities of Hokkien Chinese within Malaysia.
This patterning must be understood against a complex sociolinguistic background of Penang that is characterized by the presence of multiple overlapping languages and communities of partially fused (limited competence) multilingual speakers. The language landscape of Penang is represented by formal British English, informal "Penanglish," Mandarin, Hokkien Chinese, Tamil, Hindi, Bahasa Malaysia and Pasar Malay, Cantonese, Teow Chiew Chinese, Kek, Hakka, Hok Chiew and other Chinese languages.

My sis and I got him a present like almost a month ago already...just waiting for the day to give it to him..something we thought he will need and something stylish...eheheh..anyway hope u really liked the bag...bro!! We had no idea where to dine when Pik Jian came to fetch us..anyway we ended up in Belissa Row's Bella Italia...

Look!! We ordered Pizza and Lasagna...yum yum..

Hmmm..wonder if I'll be sued if the group head finds out about this!! So..better keep very quiet about me posting this..k??? =) This portal has been temporary on-hold because the e-Solution people has got more important task. So it shall not be on the web before I leave...but it will out by the 3rd Quarter of this year...'jia you' TD!!

Hehe..I scored highest mark for this painting compared to the other two but I don't really think this is the best but well..I did put much effort in it...at least..its rewarding =)
Bamboo...my first experience with bamboo...I don't quite like the leaves..somehow..its just did not appear like the way I expected or imagined it to be..

Another Birthday Card...for another colleague of mine...I was again asked to prepare a birthday card for this bday boy...haha..or mayb bday man..hehe..anw..you should be able to guess from the card that this fella likes fruits..yes..he does..almoz evryday he'll bring one fruit...mostly oranges..then he'll eat them for tea in the late afternoon...so on his birthday he shall have a bday cake...and not only fruits...Happy Birthday KB!!
